A Pinch of Philosophy

As a deep thinker i have always wondered how fortunate I am to lead such a tranquil life.It is perhaps true that no one is tranquil but the way one takes things in life makes him a mature person.Everyone learns something at a point of time but a man's pride and vanity makes him to stop learning things.Nothing is simple in nature.When researched or looked deeper into,every minute particle's complexities are visible.That's how life goes.A simple thing must never be left uncared.In haste and delusion,man makes the mistake of thinking about the complexities of life and gives prime importance to what he can't get and be what he isn't .Going for the moon when a man has a few pounds in his hands isn't astuteness.Enjoying what mother nature has given us and walking straight past the delusions gives a man complete peace and that is when he attains moksha. "What do i want in life?" is a question i always ask myself.Most people do.If your answer to this question is "Money",then let's take it for granted that you have not known the biggest secret!Yes,do you know why the ancient Saints died at a certain point of time?They knew themselves which is the ultimate secret.When a person knows himself and is past delusions,he is ready to reach His feet.He has known life's biggest secret.Yes,the biggest secret of life is undeniably this.What more can a person want?

Sadly,we all know what the biggest secret is.It's unleashed.But aren't we all taking necessary steps to know ourselves.This can't be taught or learnt.The only way to attain the state is by controlling our sense organs.You all very well know how to control your sense organs.mainly,try to let go of your anger which is the ultimate thing.ALways remember,you will be called a fool in this ignorant planet when you try to act so,but pay no heed to what the stupid world says.Don't get dejected.Don't at any cost cultivate hatred or deep affection for anybody.Both are worse.Being detached at times isn't wrong.Wearing a facade and being a hypocrite is what makes a person live in a delusional world.He won't know himself , let alone attain tranquility.Moreover , being detached and living a highly moral life isn't half as bad as being a hypocrite and living in delusion.

The main reason for my writing this post is I learnt a very valuable information today from a friend.My special thanks to Swathi,my intellectual friend for entertaining me with her words of enlightenment.We had an excellent time talking about various things in life.While most of my friends didn't pay heed to what she said and on the contrary talking about guys and films,we talked,we had a real conversation.kinda intellectual.It can't be explained in words.Those girls,unfortunately,aren't mature enough to comprehend such meaningful talk and i sincerely hope they know themselves at least in the near future.

My views on the Ram Sethu issue

Recently my friend Vivek wrote an excellent article about the Ram Sethu issue and i have commented on his article.Cycle tests commence from tomorrow and i won't have time in the future to post articles(atleast for 2 months).I's like you all to read my comment and tell me what you feel.This is a very serious issue and should not be left uncared.It's shame for all Indians!SO please put forward your views.You can read Vivek's article here

And here goes my comment;

Excellent article,vivek.I agree with you one hundred percentage.Today's politicians do anything for publicity and MK is no exception.He says he is agnostic but what does he really do?Condeming Hinduism and licking the feets of other religions is his forte.But lemme just ask one question..Who the bloody hell is HE to comment on our religion?Why isnt the country revolting?Why do people keep mum and are self-sentered?This is like encouraging them and giving approval to whatever they do.Isn't it fatuous on MK's part to ask if SriRam was an engineer?This shows how irrational he is.No man is his right mind would come up with something blasphemous like this.Why don't people realise that this is utter blasphemy and what is RSS doing?Only ADvani and Modi seem to have taken measures to stop this nonsense.Why isnt the country boiling?Why do Hindus fear to talk about this in public?And i seriously wonder if Congress has got any work at all.
Let's now look at the other side of the proble.Demolishing the RamSethu is one thing,but do you knw what the other threat is?The environment gets polluted and why are the environmentalists keeping their mouths shut?This problem has been masked and the issue of Ram's existence is being questioned.This will happen only in India and nowhere.This is shame and every Hindu should stand against this atrocity and speak out their views.Non-violence won't help in the future.People like MK are taking advantage of Hindus' patience and I daresay he is a staunch Hindu himself.Wearing a facade and making fools of people will only land him in deep waters.

Next thing would be to declare India as a Hindu nation and not a secular country.India must be called Hindustan and hypocrites like MK and Sonia should be driven out of the country.New rules must be brought out in the country and dolts like ARjun Singh should be massacred.
Lastly,people must participate in protests whenever such immorality arises and should be proud to say "I am a Hindu" and not "I am proud to be in a secular country".

My heartfelt thanks to you for coming up with something awesome like this.Fear not not friend,Hinduism hasn't lost its glory and never will.Keep the words flowing!Cheers!

People who disagree with our point of view can close the window or go to another website.It's my and my own perception and will not under any circumstances entertain stupid comments. Thanks!

Ignorance-my vice?

I have been ignorant all thru my life and still am.And the sad part is i don't regret it.I have never known real people even existed.I am not a pessimist , no but it's just my basic character that i dont trust people easily.Ofcourse it does come from personal experience but still now,i am not able to change my perceptions about people.Sometimes i feel i am ignorant and stupid and confused for reasons unknown.I am very happy for all i know.But still the art of socialising and getting to know people better give me the creeps.People say i am kind of detached and that's 100% true and i know very well that i am not what people expect from me.I just don't want to get disappointed.When you expect something from someone and when they don't live upto your expectations,you feel all sober and dejected.I am not allowing these things to happen to me,just by being detached.I don't know if it's correct or wrong,but atleast this suits me best.

Many take me for an extrovert which is real sad.When you want to be typecast as something and when you are not being donr so,how would you feel?That's the same thing happening in my life.I know i am not extroverted or introverted and am an ambivert.I talk to people i like and am a typical virgo when it comes to socialising.But why do people typecast you make you want to cry out that you are NOT what you are!I really don't understand.

Many people also take me for a prejudiced individual who doesn't mingle freely with all.They think i am kinda proud and am narcissistic and egocentric.Now,i dont really give a damn what people think about me.But why do people think so?I never even really talk to them.I don't even have the time to write,let alone go partying and have fun with people.I can have my own fun,thanks.You don't have to tell me what to do and what not to do.I shall dig my own grave if that's what bothering ya.When you don't want to do something and when people force you into doing something,you feel pretty sick and i am experiencing the same.Why can't i be independent?Why do people take it for granted that one has to live for the society?

Is doing what one loves a big crime?In this stupid world,i reckon, it is.People are not encouraged to do what they like and right from childhood a person is not encouraged to do what he likes.Fortunately that has not happened in my case.I had second thoughts about what i should do,yes,but i felt i can always dabble between writing and studying electronics.And i have succeeded.100%.I have no regrets that i didn't take up writing as a career though many advised me to.Well,my personal things apart,recently i talked to a girl who in the midst of a conversation told quite casually that she didn't want to do an engineering degree but all her friends suggested her to and her parents had forced her into doing this just because she had scored a good percentage.She had wanted to be a journalist actually.How stupid!Preposterous!When you get a good percentage,you can't do journalism or so these fools think!OMG!How ignorant people are!The ways of the world are really strange and how people get these strange ideas,i don't know.To even think that one can come up with these weird grotesque ideas horrifies me.The explanation she offered for the same made me speechless.I was really flabbergasted.She looked grave and somber when she heard my reply.I was quite harsh with her and wanted her to do what she wanted.Poor soul!She's not to blame.She's just being corrupted by the many souls who have once or many times been corrupted by the stupid souls of this once lovely planet.Her parents had told her that she can't make enough dough if she becomes a journalist!I don't really know what to say!I have some questions.Please take the time to answer them!

Why have people become self-centered and chase money like anything?
Is doing what you like mean you are stupid and the others are not?
Is money everything in life?

I may be ignorant of the ways of the world and people might call me a stupid and say,"The fittest shall survive" but all i will say is "My inner happiness and tranquility come first" and not "You are right".For all i know,i am ignorant,yes but don't consider it a vice.

The Big Story

The Karnataka Government's ban on the sale of cell phones to children below the age of 16 may have aggravated many teens who have accused the government of acting as a "moral brigade" , but interestingly,this has triggered off a debate on how the latest gadgets and equipments pose a threat to people who can't live without them.
Various concerns about cell phone usage amongst children causing cancer, brain disorders and impacting the nervous system have been raised by health experts.

Rather than debating as to what the karnataka government did was right or wrong we'll see what are the possible ways this technology affects people and ways to prevent them by adhering to strict measures;

*Basically,cell phones work by emitting radio frequency radiation thru the antenna on the phone.This antenna lies right next to the BRAIN.

*The potential risk of a mobile phone comes from its emission of low levels of RF,the same type of energy that comes from a microwave oven.

*The Rf pulses off the device's antenna right next to the user's head and that proximity to the brain is what concerns some researchers.

*The high levels of Rf can produce biological damage thru heating effects(this is how the microwave oven cooks food)

*However,it's not known whether to what extent or thru what mechanism lower levels of rf might cause adverse health effects as well!

~Children may be more vulnerable bcoz of their developing nervous system.

Preventive measures;

-->Use hands free sets to decrease radiation to the head
-->Discourage children from using them.Try to be honest with them
-->Don't use a cell phone if the signal is weak.The phone emits more radiation to compensate for a poor signal.

The main catch here is these are all short term studies.Mobile phones have only been in mainstream for a few years.None is sure of the long term effects.

A lot of confusions prevail on the question of whether use of cell phones is hazardous are not , but why take risks?

My first css template

I designed my first css template yesterday with the help of my cousin.He taught me how to use Photoshop and man,photoshop is everything a designer can ask for!I am still intrigued as to how designers create wonders with the software.The features are aplenty and the brushes,whoa!I would suggest you all to learn photoshop asap.Please don't miss it.It makes designing look comparatively easier.
As for the css stuff,I didn't have much probelm except for the color codes.As it was my first try,I used the coding of another template and just inserted mine there.I found the work pretty good and have come up with an idea to launch my own blogger templates,simple ones that all can use.I am working on a new blogger template now.The one I did was a classic blogger template.I will share it with you all soon.

I also intend to create my designs under the name PeachesnLemons.The blog has been created but i am working on the design.It's fun!Join me on my quest to learning more,Thanks!

India Vs Pakistan-!4th September

India vs Pakistan exists in a parallel universe, free from the drear of irrelevance. Even a Twenty20 World Championships Group match is not to be spared of the highly polarised interest.
This time,when India won in quite an intriguing manner, euphoria was in the air and still is.
The boys really did it and what more can an indian ask for?:)
India and Pakistan were involved in a bowl-out at the Kingsmead on Friday night after the archrivals played a heart-stopping tie.In the bowl-out, Pakistan's Yasir Arafat, Umar Gul and Shahid Afridi failed to hit the stumps at the other end.

Indian bowlers Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh and Robin Uthappa hit the wicket each time to give their team a 3-0 win.

Kudos,India!Both the teams know that for the millions back home, this is the big one.And Our boys did it!Yahoo!

Indians predated Newton 'discovery' by 250 years

A little known school of scholars in southwest India discovered one of the founding principles of modern mathematics hundreds of years before Newton according to new research.

Dr George Gheverghese Joseph from The University of Manchester says the 'Kerala School' identified the 'infinite series'- one of the basic components of calculus - in about 1350.

The discovery is currently - and wrongly - attributed in books to Sir Isaac Newton and Gottfried Leibnitz at the end of the seventeenth centuries.

The team from the Universities of Manchester and Exeter reveal the Kerala School also discovered what amounted to the Pi series and used it to calculate Pi correct to 9, 10 and later 17 decimal places.

And there is strong circumstantial evidence that the Indians passed on their discoveries to mathematically knowledgeable Jesuit missionaries who visited India during the fifteenth century.

That knowledge, they argue, may have eventually been passed on to Newton himself.

Dr Joseph made the revelations while trawling through obscure Indian papers for a yet to be published third edition of his best selling book 'The Crest of the Peacock: the Non-European Roots of Mathematics' by Princeton University Press.

He said: "The beginnings of modern maths is usually seen as a European achievement but the discoveries in medieval India between the fourteenth and sixteenth centuries have been ignored or forgotten.

"The brilliance of Newton's work at the end of the seventeenth century stands undiminished - especially when it came to the algorithms of calculus.

"But other names from the Kerala School, notably Madhava and Nilakantha, should stand shoulder to shoulder with him as they discovered the other great component of calculus- infinite series.

"There were many reasons why the contribution of the Kerala school has not been acknowledged - a prime reason is neglect of scientific ideas emanating from the Non-European world - a legacy of European colonialism and beyond.

"But there is also little knowledge of the medieval form of the local language of Kerala, Malayalam, in which some of most seminal texts, such as the Yuktibhasa, from much of the documentation of this remarkable mathematics is written."

He added: "For some unfathomable reasons, the standard of evidence required to claim transmission of knowledge from East to West is greater than the standard of evidence required to knowledge from West to East.

"Certainly it's hard to imagine that the West would abandon a 500-year-old tradition of importing knowledge and books from India and the Islamic world.

"But we've found evidence which goes far beyond that: for example, there was plenty of opportunity to collect the information as European Jesuits were present in the area at that time.

"They were learned with a strong background in maths and were well versed in the local languages.

"And there was strong motivation: Pope Gregory XIII set up a committee to look into modernising the Julian calendar.

"On the committee was the German Jesuit astronomer/mathematician Clavius who repeatedly requested information on how people constructed calendars in other parts of the world. The Kerala School was undoubtedly a leading light in this area.

"Similarly there was a rising need for better navigational methods including keeping accurate time on voyages of exploration and large prizes were offered to mathematicians who specialised in astronomy.

"Again, there were many such requests for information across the world from leading Jesuit researchers in Europe. Kerala mathematicians were hugely skilled in this area."

The Moon and Six Pence-Somerset Maugham

After a very long time,I read a sensible book a few days before.Written by Somerset Maugham,who has had many critically acclaimed works, the novel is a real treasure.This i say, even before reviewing it.No good reader should fail to read this book.

You will be surprised to find that there is no particular weightage on any one person in this novel.Each character shines with its peculiar charm.Well,over to the characters and their play;

The narrator is a mutual friend of a plain,middle-aged,sweet woman called Mrs Strickland.Mrs Strickland is happily married to a stockbroker(a rather dull guy with no social activities) or so it seems.Everything goes on fine in their lives when suddenly,the stockbroker,Mr Strickland is said to have eloped with a woman.Hell freezes over and Mrs Strickland is in shock that their 17 years of marital bliss had crashed down all of a sudden.The narrator is requested by the lady to meet with Mr Strickland and persuade him,i daresay,to return to England.When the narrator goes to France,he gets the shock of his life when he finds the man in totally different circumstances.
With the help of a poor soul named Dirk Stroeve , he helps Strickland in many ways and what follows afterward affects the reader.The nexus between Strickland and Dirk's calm wife is one thing to be afraid of.The ending is heart wrenching and tragic.

Charles' insolent and impudent character has been given a fine twist and the reader can't ask for more.His care a damn attitude and the conversations between the narrator and him are sheer genius.The portrayal of characters such as Dirk Stroeve and lady Stroeve,Blanche, are fascinating and people of Dirk's character never exist now.Atleast i think so!

The Moon and six pence is quite an interesting read and is a must read for all literary enthusiasts.
