Widgets Mania
Every blogger has this widget mania to increase his/her traffic. I am not exception to it. I have cut and pasted innumerable javascript codes . It started with Feedjit, a great service for tracking visitors to our blog and neo-counter(I don't remember the link) which tells us from which places the main traffic comes.I really loved both of them but had to remove them coz my blog was loading very very slow and many of my readers told me to do something about it. They were apprehensive about it and my new commenting system, as fate would have it, wouldn't let go of me, even i wish to!I had tried uninstalling the code but lo, nothing happens. At least it's faster and not as bad as it was, before, when people frantically begged me to change it or remove it. Clustermaps is a great service and i really love it.
At a point of time, i saw that many had a craze over blogrush widgets and even i went for it. But as no desired traffic came, i deleted it just yesterday. Ciao, Blogrush!The social networking widgets like fuelmyblog, bumpzee, mybloglog and blogcatalog are really doing wonders and i have no qualms in installing them to my precious sidebar.Especially, blogcatalog where i have met some of the most wonderful people.I have an amazon widget too, hoping someone will give me some dough to write!lol:)Well, if you really need a good alexa ranking, i would suggest that you grab an alexa ranking widget real quick. It does wonders and miracles to your alexa ranking. My alexa ranking was 29 lakh something before and now, it's 9 lakh something.
As for the money making stuff, i had installed many useless widgets but got rid of them as soon as i saw that there was no change in my account. Not a penny had accumulated, duh!
Google adsense, in my case, is a disaster.I have approximately 6 dollars in my account now;)
But i would say i got lucky by choosing smorty.The bucks i get there is enough for my pocket money!I had installed payperpost but was advised to remove all the links related to ppp coz it reduces google pagerank. I did accordingly, thanks to the person!
I would also suggest Linkworth, it's slowly been working.As for the free advertising, i would suggest Adgridwork.I have got a considerable amount of traffic from there.I have plans of signing up for entrecard as people say it works really well and am intrigued by it. Let's see.
